Biography

Mahdieh Abolhasan was born in 1980 in Tehran. She started drawing and sculpting as a child at the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults. She continued more seriously with The Academic Center for Education, Culture, and Research (ACECR) in 1993. In the following years, she was trained by various teachers in the artists' private studio.
Abolhasan participated in Volta Basel, Switzerland, in 2021 and Ankara Art Fair in 2019. She has also exhibited her works in numerous individual exhibitions at Azad Art Gallery, Saradipour Gallery(sari gallery), Shavadoon Art Gallery, and dozens of group exhibitions. In 2022, she organized an art installation at the Zargan Power Plant in Ahvaz. Participating in three performances and two environmental installations in nature are among her other artistic activities in the past years.
Abolhasan is the chosen one of the 6th annual Presbook, and her works have also been introduced on the specialized website Artist Book Unauthorized Press.
Since 1998, she has been active as a graphic designer in various magazines, including the Tandis Magazine, and publishing art books, and has designed more than 300 book titles.
